Circus Education

Wake Up and Circus! is a dynamic program designed for young artists ( 9-17) with prior experience in circus, dance, theater, or related performance. Under the guidance of director and choreographer Sean Fagan | Circus Theatricks, participants will dive into the art of ensemble creation—building skills in movement, storytelling, and circus technique while collaborating to choreograph and produce an original show.

Together, this dedicated troupe of emerging performers will explore the thrill of risk-taking, the discipline of rehearsal, and the excitement of bringing a vision to life on stage. The program culminates in a fully staged performance showcasing the participants’ creativity, teamwork, and artistry.

Schedule

Workshops/Rehearsals: Sundays 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Dates: October 12, 19, 26; November 2, 9

Dress Rehearsals: Tuesday, November 18 (6-8:30 PM) & Friday, November 21 (4:30 PM – 8:00 PM)

Performances: Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 PM & 6:00 PM

Rehearsals and performances are at Mt. Ida Preservation Hall | 548 Congress St. Troy, NY 12180

Fees: $325 | We are committed to making our programs accessible to all—financial assistance is available for those who need it.

The Big Top Group is proud to announce Spring Youth Circus Camp! Campers learn exciting skills that encourage creativity and athleticism such as aerial silks, aerial hoop, hula hoop, static trapeze, acrobatics, tumbling, handstands, juggling, tightwire, and more!

We have partnered up with Westchester Circus Arts and will be bringing in seasoned instructors in aerial and ground-based circus arts.

Appropriate for Students Ages 7 - 17 yrs old. First come, first serve. Spaces are limited.
